4 p.m.: Warren firefighter layoffs averted (Tribune Chronicle)

WARREN - City administration and the union representing the city’s firefighters have reached a tentative agreement on a contract Thursday that would head off planned layoffs of two firefighters for 2010. Human Resources Director Gary Cicero would not give details other than to say that the union did agree to some concessions, as the the city was asking.
