Coroner rescinds planned layoff

YOUNGSTOWN - Following a talk with county officials, Mahoning County Coroner Dr. David Kennedy decided Friday to not layoff an investigator as previously planne.

BSO Detention Deputies Get Layoff Notices

Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti faces the unenviable task of informing nearly 300 jail deputies they might lose their jobs. The BSO has been forced to prepare employees for the cuts because county commissioners said the recession is forcing cuts countywide and cuts are expected in every budget the County Commission approves.
