Police Layoffs Ripple Through Florida in Wake of Housing Collapse

Luzerne County layoffs to be reduced

The number of Luzerne County government layoffs may be reduced from an estimated 106 to 56 because two council members are poised to support a 2-percent tax increase for 2012, council Chairman Jim Bobeck said this afternoon.
