Alvord district approves 154 teacher layoff notices (The Press-Enterprise)

Layoff notices for teachers in 154 jobs were approved Thursday night by the Alvord school board. Board member Carolyn Wilson called the decision heartbreaking. The vote was 4-1. Board member Art Kaspereen dissented, saying the district, board, financial administrators and teachers association all need to do things differently.
