CMS teachers begin receiving layoff notices

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Hundreds of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teachers have received preliminary layoff notices since yesterday. NewsChannel 36 has confirmed that 360 layoff notices have been delivered to teachers. CMS said the letters were delivered either in person by principals or by certified mail.
