Jefferson County to plan layoffs in wake of occupational tax ruling (Birmingham News)

Minutes after approving a $950,000 contract to lobby for federal sewer debt relief, Jefferson County officials said today they will plan layoffs to comply with a circuit court decision that struck down its occupational tax.
