Labor Department: Colorado mass layoffs up sharply in Q1 (BizJournals)
The number of Colorado companies laying off 50 or more workers at a time nearly quadrupled in the first quarter of 2009 from the same period a year earlier, and the number of workers who lost their jobs in “mass layoffs” nearly tripled, the U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday.
