Lawmakers eye $200 mil local aid cut, ‘widespread’ layoffs forecast (Pembroke Mariner & Reporter)
Already coping with last year’s record reductions in local aid, cities and towns could see that aid cut by $200 million more next fiscal year, a 4 percent cut that one prominent municipal advocate said would lead to “widespread layoffs all throughout Massachusetts.”
