Layoffs, new tax on the table in Arlington Heights (Daily Herald)
Higher taxes, program eliminations and layoffs loom in Arlington Heights. Meeting as a committee, the village board expressed support Monday for a new, 3 percent tax on electric and natural gas usage as well as a property tax increase of 5.74 percent in the fiscal year that begins in May.
