Layoffs reach state police (The Journal-Standard)
Proposed layoffs within the Illinois State Police would seriously impact area law enforcement efforts, and may lead to increased traffic fatalities, a rise in highway drug trafficking, and longer response times for serious accidents and other incidents, said Captain Scott Compton of the state police.
