Rialto school district to issue 142 preliminary layoff notices (The Press-Enterprise)
Facing a $7 million budget deficit next year, the Rialto Board of Education on Wednesday night voted 5-0 to issue preliminary layoff notices to 142 employees. Among those to receive the notices are 70 elementary school teachers, 10 sixth-grade teachers, 17 elementary literacy coaches and eight counselors.
