S.B. County land use department faces staff cuts (The Press-Enterprise)

Up to 60 positions could be eliminated in San Bernardino County’s land use services department to fix a budget hole estimated at $6 million, County Administrative Officer Mark Uffer said Thursday in an interview. Uffer described the staff reductions as a layoff plan, although he said the county hopes to move all the employees to other departments so nobody actually loses a job.
