State has added 752 during hiring freeze (The Des Moines Register)

Iowa has hired 752 people since Gov. Chet Culver called for a hiring freeze 11 months ago, records obtained by The Des Moines Register show. That’s nearly the number of state workers initially pegged for layoffs to meet Culver’s order of a 10 percent across-the-board budget cut.
