Stimulus cash may not keep layoffs away, schools say (Poughkeepsie Journal)

ALBANY - Gov. David Paterson promised Friday the state would restore $700 million in proposed education cuts with federal stimulus money, but school districts said they could not guarantee there won’t be layoffs or larger class sizes next year.
