Teachers Take Furloughs rather than Layoffs
SPARKS –– In what one legislator described as a “good news/bad news scenario,” the Washoe County School District announced Friday that it has made agreements in collaboration with five employee groups to save $11 million of a $33 million shortfall without layoffs.
