Up to 175 layoff notices possible in Murrieta school district (The Press-Enterprise)
As many as 175 teachers in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District could receive layoff notices next month under a proposal outlined Thursday at a special school board meeting. The board will hold another special meeting March 8 to consider the proposal, which calls for eliminating nearly 160 positions, including 108 kindergarten through fifth-grade teachers.
